How many certificate do you offer each year?
We currently offer a Certificate of Theology and Ministry every Spring, Summer and Fall.
should i take c;tm if i already have an mdiv?
We do not recommend C:TM for those who have received an M.Div. in the last 5 years.
what does self-paced learning mean?
There are only two deadlines within the C:TM course, the first deadline is the midterm and the second is the final. Before you take the midterm or final, you have to be caught up with all of the previous course work.
How many hours a week can I expect to work?
We recommend for students to plan for 6-8 hours a week spent within the course.
What happens if I cant finish the course?
If you are unable to complete the course, the are welcome to roll into the next cohort at any time.
is there a drop date?
If you need to drop out of the certificate for any reason, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org immediately. If you drop prior to starting the second course, you will receive 75% of your money back. If you drop between the second course and the midterm, you will receive 25% of your money back. For students who need to drop after the midterm, we recommend rolling into another cohort. We do not give any money back if you drop after the midterm.

HOW MANY sections are in each course?
Each course is broken up into four sections; Old Testament for Faith and Life, New Testament, Theology and World Christianity. For more details about each of these course offerings, and the professors who teach them, please visit the Study tab at the top of the page.
I was wondering if the costs include materials that are sent to the students, in advance of classes, to study, or are all the materials downloadable off the internet?
There are currently three additional texts students are required to purchase. These will be posted one week before class and can be ordered via Amazon.com.
Can questions be asked after the Thursday night classes, via email, if necessary?
Currently, professors are only available for consultation during the Live Experience! C:TMONLINE is designed to be a peer-to-peer learning experience. Much like the Princeton Theological Seminary campus experience, 80% of theological education happens in working through theological problems with your classmates. Our Teaching-Fellow and TA’s will be available for clarification throughout the 14-week certificate.
Are we issued certificates of completion upon successfully completing the cohort?
Yes, if you successfully pass the C:TM program you will be awarded the C:TMONLINE certificate powered by Princeton Theological Seminary. Students can either achieve a PASS or PASS w/ DISTINCTION on their certificate.
What if I miss an occasional class?
Although strongly encouraged, currently the Live Experience! is not required for completion of the certificate. This means that there is no class to “miss!”.
What if I’m traveling during class?
C:TMONLINE is designed to be done anywhere you can get connected to the internet. Because the Live Experience! is not required for completion of the certificate, you are able to work on your coursework and interact with your cohort from virtually anywhere!
How does this program differ from the year-long course in Ministry and Theology previously offered online by Princeton Theological Seminary?
This is a reimagined version of a year-long certificate we previously piloted. We’ve compressed the coursework into 14-weeks; added more self-paced weekly work; and we’ve included more face-to-face time with our professors.
Does Princeton have a payment plan?
Yes. We allow students to pay in 1 or 2 payment installments. Once you are accepted to the program, you will be prompted to pay for the program via email. When you enter your credit card information, you have the option of paying in 1 or 2 payments.
what is the due date for SUMMER applications?
We start accepting applications for the Summer cohort in early March.
can I apply for next year's cohort this year?
Currently, we only open application for one cohort at a time. In the future, we hope to allow participants to apply to cohorts up to a year in advance.
I already submitted my application, Do you have it on file?
Yes. As of 2016, we keep record of ever application ever submitted. If you have submitted a application prior to 2016, and would like to revisit that application, please send an email to ctmsupport.ptsem.edu.
WHAT DO I NEED TO ACCESS THE LIVE EXPERIENCE?
We recommend being hardwired to the internet, the latest version of Google Chrome, and ear buds.
I don't have a camera on my computer, Is it still possible to participate in the Live experience?
Yes. You do not need a camera to participate in the Live Experience, although we highly recommend getting access to a camera for the experience. This way the professor and your peers can see you and interact with you on a more personal level.
how do i access the live experience?
Students in C:TM ONLINE can access the Live Experience! via the live tab. Once students are accepted to the course, they will receive a code that will allow them to enter the live tab.
What if i can't attend the live experience?
While we highly recommend taking advantage of our uniquely produced Live Experience!, it is not required for successful completion of the certificate.
how does the phone add work?
Yes. Our platform is built for any mobile device. You just save the site to your home screen.
Do i need to download a special program?
No. Our online platform is accessible from the internet. Once you are accepted to the program you will be able to access your cohort via the "log in" tab.
DO I NEED TO READ ANYTHING BEFORE THE COURSE BEGINS?

How am i graded?
C:TM is modeled on the Princeton Theological Seminary campus experience. This means that learning in community is central to theological education. We have translated this belief by making peer-to-peer participation equally weighted with a midterm and final exam.
are grades awarded?
C:TM currently does not award letter grades or academic credit. The possible outcomes of C:TMONLINE are: Did Not Pass, Pass or Pass with Distinction.
